Barry....would you be able to design a custom wig for me? Thanks!
May. 28, 2010 by Catherine
Hi Catherine! Certainly...I will email you and we'll discuss it!

Should I cut off my hair before it starts falling out?
May. 31, 2010
The hair will react the same to the treatments whether it’s long or short. Cutting your hair off and then trying to match the original style with a wig can be very stressful. When the hair starts to release, simply tie it back and make an appointment with your stylist to remove it. It’s less shocking to remove your hair and begin wearing a wig in the same cut and style. People won’t notice you have made the switch to your hair replacement and you can maintain your sense of identity.

What can I do to prevent getting a cold or flu during my treatments?
Jun. 4, 2010
The first thing your oncologist says is to stay away from people with colds and flu. You may get night sweats from the medication so it is wise to wear a sleep cap at night to absorb any perspiration to avoid getting a cold or flu that can set back your treatments.

What do you recommend for comfort when you get home and take off the wig?
May. 31, 2010
I call it Option Wear. Finding your comfort zone at home is one of the most important concerns. I recommend Tami caps, which are made with stretch fabric and come in all colors. These are easy cover-ups you can use if anyone surprises you at the door so you don’t have to run and try to put your wig on in a hurry. Tie scarves work well with the “Halo of Hair,” which is designed to wear under hats and scarves without wearing your full wig so you can stay cool and comfortable.

What is something simple I can do to stay healthy during treatments?
May. 31, 2010
Drinking a lot of water will help flush the chemicals from your system. I recommend carrying water with you at all times and getting in the habit of constantly sipping. Don’t wait until your thirsty!
